MU shares commission with Getafe when selling Greenwood

Mason Greenwood has joined Getafe on a season-long loan. The English striker is a good signing for Getafe, having contributed 4 goals and 3 assists in 13 matches.

Man United decided to give Getafe 20% of Mason Greenwood's transfer fee. Therefore, Getafe only has to pay 80% of the transfer fee to MU if they decide to buy Greenwood outright. In case Greenwood is sold to another team, Getafe will also receive its commission. This is a way for MU to convince Getafe to accept a transfer deal, when they also do not take money to borrow players from the Spanish team.

Mason Greenwood was arrested for rape and assault charges in January 2022. He was suspended but was still paid a decent salary by MU during this period. The charges against Greenwood were dropped in February 2023. However, pressure from public opinion prevented Greenwood from playing football at Man United.

Greenwood's contract with Man United is valid until 2025 with the option to extend for another year. In the best case, MU can sell Greenwood completely at the end of this season.

No Premier League club is interested in Greenwood. However, the English player is still interested in Italian and Turkish clubs. Getafe can also consider buying Greenwood outright, especially when they receive too many benefits in this deal and have a good player on the team.
