Chelsea Joins the Race for Jean-Clair Todibo with MU

According to ESPN, Chelsea is the latest team to express interest in securing the services of center-back Jean-Clair Todibo, who is also becoming a top target for Manchester United.MU is planning to upgrade its squad in January 2024, with Varane no longer a top priority for Coach Ten Hag, and Martinez sidelined due to injury. The Red Devils prioritize bringing in a new center-back, with Jean-Clair Todibo being one of their top targets.

In the summer of 2023, MU showed interest in the former Barcelona player, but their offer was not accepted. Now, the Old Trafford-based team will return to inquire about the French player. However, the red half of Manchester faces significant competition in this deal.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also revealed that Chelsea has initiated contact with Nice and Todibo to discuss a potential transfer. Chelsea is set to part ways with veteran defender Thiago Silva at the end of the season. The Brazilian player's contract is expiring, and he desires to return to his homeland to play for his former club, Fluminense. Therefore, The Blues need to find a replacement.

Todibo is crucial to Nice, highly regarded for his positional awareness and defensive capabilities. The 23-year-old defender has a contract with the French club until 2027. After playing in France, Germany, Spain, and Portugal, Todibo is now contemplating a move to England.

Certainly, Nice won't let go of their star easily, aiming to fetch a transfer fee of 50 to 60 million euros. Both Chelsea and MU are willing to meet this valuation in the hopes of securing the French player.
