Marcus Rashford Criticized as the Worst Player in the Premier League

Legend Mark Hughes believes Marcus Rashford is the worst player in the Premier League when it comes to off-the-ball work. Rashford has faced criticism for his disappointing performances for Man United in recent weeks, sitting on the bench against Chelsea midweek after a lackluster display against Newcastle.

Recently, Mark Hughes stated that Marcus Rashford needs to work harder when off the ball. "Players need to drop back defensively, and if they lose the ball, they should try to regain it as quickly as possible. If you compare how Man United reacts when they lose the ball with Man City, it's like chalk and cheese. If Foden loses the ball, he will regain it. The same goes for Jack Grealish. Marcus Rashford is an extraordinary talent and one of the best players in the Premier League when it comes to facing defenders. But in terms of off-the-ball work, he is perhaps one of the worst. Rashford needs to improve in this aspect."

Mark Hughes also believes that Rashford is lacking focus at the moment: "I don't think players step onto the field with no intention of making an effort from the start. But Rashford is not happy at this time. Many things off the pitch have taken away some of his focus, and perhaps he needs to refocus on his role on the field when asked to wear the Man United shirt."

This season, Rashford has only scored 2 goals and provided 1 assist for Man United. These statistics are indeed disappointing for the highest-paid player at the club.
